Gear Guide?
I am having trouble getting my power up (level 88, 157268 power), and I have a feeling it may be due in part to my gear and who it is equipped on! Is there a guide? Or a list of what is best for who 4* and up?
I have Adept Rhee, tier 5, almost "S", Shi Fu, Edvard, Tao Yuan, and Merila (hard to tell exactly what tier/level the rest are on, but Shi Fu has 3 arrows with the line underneath, and the rest have 2 arrows and the line...if that makes sense).
Thanks for ANY advice/help, I suck apparently :S

Re: Gear Guide?
The higher the star the better the gear, for the armor it really doesn't matter who wears what, just as long as it is higher and higher stars. For the 5* gear though, the best gear is King's gear, followed by ancient, knights, and guardian gear.
As for the weapons, once you can tier them up, hunters use the bows, mages use the wands, and warriors use the swords and daggers, because they have a bonus for there respective class.
Hope this helps.

Re: Gear Guide?
there are 3 different 5* gears
Guardian gear is the weakest of 5* gear, it comes from sun chests
Knight gear is from spins or events, generally harder to get. it's better than guardian
King gear is from "Event Sun Chests" (each gives you 3 pieces at random, you need 15 pieces to make a real piece of gear) which come from boss events (certain # of points earned) and from Courage Chests (buy one for 100 courage gems, most people buy 100+ before opening)

Re: Gear Guide?
You can get knights weapon plans from sun chests as well as a small chance of getting a knights weapon fully made already.

Re: Gear Guide?
The two widely used courage heroes are Allon and Marlina.
Allon is the best 5* tank in the game and Marlina throws out some pretty big numbers.
As for sun chests, only craft those. It's not worth the cost in diamonds.
You can use booster gems on spin vouchers for destiny spin. You'll get some sun chests there as well as pieces for other 5* gears and 6* heroes.

Re: Gear Guide?
hi pinksox welcome to the forum, the purpose of this post was to help you raise your power. so below is my analysis and suggestion as to how to help you achieve that.
first lets talk about where you get "power" from. what gives the most and what gives the least.
if you go to the Analysis screen via Equips you'll notice that you get different amount of power from each of these. now i'm going to post MY scores for a reference.
Hero Score : 2,007,190
Gear Score : 783,698
Picture Score : 636,000
Tech Score : 566,240
Quest Score : 152,600
Title Score : 53,010
Total : 3,626,338
so from this we can deduct that the biggest source of power you can obtain is actually from your heroes. Which means leveling up and tiering them up.
Next let's talk about your team, it consists of:
rhee (mage)
tao yuan (mage)
merila (mage)
shi fu(hunter)
edvard (warrior)
I'm not saying your team is bad but i see 1 very big issue with it. you have 3 mages.
at low tier this doesn't seem like a bad thing but trust me when i say this. you will have an insanely difficult time tiering them up as it goes higher. the amount of evolution materials you need for 5* heroes goes up exponentially. it goes like this :
1 , 3, 6, 9, 15, 21, 28 which means you'll need 83 New Moon Handguards to get 1 mage up to Shield Tier. Starter heroes requires 1 more evolution thanks to getting Super. so thats +35 more materials so in total you will require ...284 New Moon Handguards to get all 3 of your mages up to Shield tier. (then you will need 43 more to reach Master Rhee which you'll want) Now you said most of your team is 2 arrows + line which means you have used a total of 4 materials to get them up to this tier which makes it a total of 272 Handguards you'll be needing. Even for a level 100+ player like me this is a staggering amount to gather. I believe i've made my point so ill move on to solution
My suggestion is to remove Tao yuan from your team that way you'll have Rhee, Merila and Shi Fu for a backline. then add a 2nd warrior into the team that way you'll have a stronger frontline to protect your mages. This will also make the amount of Mage evolution materials you require much much less.
Here's a link to a sortable table where you can look at all the 5* heroes : http://pocket-knights.wikia.com/wiki/5_Star_Heroes
Now as for gears, gears is definitely important to the game but i feel that you should focus on getting your levels and tier for heroes up before you switch over to focusing on getting better gear. Most of these guys already covered gears for you so i wont talk about it and save you some reading time.
If you got any other questions feel free to ask.

Re: Gear Guide?
I have a 2nd Shi Fu, lower leveled - got him recently and not a warrior, I know - Is it redundant to have multiples of the same character? Also, does position/formation matter, who is best where?
I can't thank you guys enough

Re: Gear Guide?
You don't want hunters or mages in the front row, they'll die quickly in later dungeons or in pvp. Warriors have the Defense, HP and the chance to block so they're suited for the frontline.
It's tempting to have a hunter or mage up front so they attack sooner, but if they won't survive very long even when geared well.
Having 2 of the same hero isn't a bad thing, especially a good hunter like Shi Fu, two in the back row along with Rhee will quickly tear through an enemy line as long as you have Edvard and maybe another warrior up front.
Merila is an incredibly powerful mage, but she'll consume the same materials to evolve as Rhee, and you should always work on your starter character (They're usually stronger, they evolve up to a 6* hero, and they ALWAYS get 3x damage against event bosses)

Re: Gear Guide?
its not redundant to have same copies of the same hero. the position is quite important, the game is designed so hunters and mages have far less hp and def than warriors so being on the front = easier to get hit as you've noticed. for each hero you lose you're in a worse position because it becomes 4v5, 3v5 and making your chances to win harder. I grabbed a few screenshots from the wikia for you to look at as reference at how players place their team. Notice how its always warriors front, mages/hunters back?

Re: Gear Guide?
Mke sure not to have three people up front as Agrilla and candy and shi fu have the column attack and do unnecessary damage.

Re: Gear Guide?
Shi fu is horrible. Get rid of him. Now. Tao yuan is the only panda I like. Ophelia isn't the best of 6* but she's good. I would suggest mm. He's a tank but his stun is good. At least until you get another 6*

Re: Gear Guide?
Shifu and Tao both become a hindrance at that level and ur already have ophelia which does a better job at hitting front line so u rather have another hero that can bust a tank quicker like Merila. Theres really no point of trying ti get a MM when u have allon, even if MMs stats are higher
