Help on Squad Direction Empty Help on Squad Direction

Hi everyone,

I've got too many options to choose from and before I invest too much I could really use some input on where to go with my squad.

Here's what I'm running at the moment:

Rathim lv53
S-Adept Jensen lv78
S-Agrila lv95
S-Ygress lv78
Nexara lv72

In my reserves, I have S-Mogh Grut, Vera, Edvard, Shi Fu, King Brogar. I can have either Allon or Marlina in the next few days.

1) Agrila is a bit hard to replace since she is just shy of being my 2nd most powerful unit, but I am guessing I should be bringing in another Hunter or Mage. Thoughts?

2) Need to decide between Allon and Marlina. I am leaning towards Marlina, or do you think I should look to abandon Jensen for Allon?

I see a million pros and cons, so can anyone help me sort out what my best squad would be?

Never abandon your starter. Jansen will be your best friend. I neglected my Jansen for some time, and I sorely regret it. However, now that I've finally mastered him and gotten him back up to speed relatively, he is my most powerful hero and currently ranked 26th among Jamel leaders.

I would suggest replacing Ygress for Mogh. Feed Agrila to Rathim once she is maxed, then put in Vera (or if you happen to pull Merila, use her instead). It would be preferable to keep only two tanks. Three does not supply one with sufficient attack damage to really get anywhere, so Allon is pointless. Personally, I wouldn't really focus on any courage heroes, unless you're gonna go for Einsteina, and even then, with the upcoming 1.6 update (whenever that'll be; "soon" is all we're still getting) and the accompanying heroes available via lucky gems, I'd hold off on her.

As a little note from me, you note that Agrila is powerful but then you may be looking at her Power Rating and getting a false sense of how good she is. Power doesn't always reflect how useful a hero is, as a huge chunk of warrior power comes from HP and Def.

Take the above post to heart, 3 warriors is generally a no-no, cause even if you had more power, your damage will be abysmal. A lot of tanking power doesn't help if you can't deal any damage back.

Marlina is good, but you have an S Mogh, which is esentially the same thing, but awakened already. Ygress is only good with an AoE team build, and even then she's not all that great.

Jansen is the best tank/warrior, no question, having amazing survivability and higher damage than any other warrior (Rathim hits 2 for more overall... Jansen demolishes single targets and gets a permanent x3 for bosses).

Thank you both very much for the advice!

It sounds like I should keep pouring my efforts into Jensen and Rathim as my tanks.
I should Transfer my stats from S-Ygress to S-Mogh Grut.
I'll sit tight with Nexara until I land a better Mage.

All I am left with is figuring out who to swap Agrila for. It looks like it should be another Hunter, based on what I have. That leaves me with Shi Fu, Vera, and the option of still picking up Marlina. Vera appears to have the edge in HP and ATK and Poison if things go my way.

My party would look like this:
Adept Jensen
Rathim
S-Mogh Grut
Nexara
Vera/Marlina

Vera and Marlina have similar stats but their CRIT is way different.
Vera deals poison DoT which ticks at the start of every turn (when your bottem back rows finish attacking) meaning a constant burn on a target.
Marlina fires a volley of shots, increasing in damage with each hit.

What PK doesn't tell you is how strong these two attacks actually are.
Marlina uses a higher multiplier with her CRIT, meaning she deals more straight out damage instantly
Vera would CRIT for the same damage Marlina does WHEN and IF his poison ticks 2-3 times. His damage on Snake Shot has a lower multiplier than Marlina, so it does less damage initially.

You also have the choice of Shi Fu, who deals a little less than Vera on CRIT (more if you count the poison) but hits up to 3 targets at once (which means higher overall damage, but it can hit 1 and be "wasted")

All three are good hunters, it's just down to what you prefer seeing in your team. Feel free to check out "5* Hero Analysis" and "Courage Hero Analysis" in card discussions too, it's got my thoughts on most of them.
